Fallout 5

Sadly, the developer has not once confirmed what they plan to do next in the series, though fans have been prepared with their precious wishlists for a while. As of now, it appears that Bethesda is still focussed on the success of Fallout 4with a new VR Mode slated to arrive in 2017. But that is not to say that Fallout 5 figures nowhere in their plans, although we may have to wait a while for it to come out. In fact, fans everywhere had a reason to rejoice earlier this year when a voice actor for Fallout 4 inadvertently leaked information on social media about Fallout 5 being in pre-production stages. The post was pulled down soon after, and the actor tried to clarify that he had no actual information but was only posting in the character of Deacon, who is known for providing unreliable information. But in all honesty, that felt more like a hurriedly pulled cover up rather than an actual clarification. Those associated with upcoming gaming projects know how sensitive these bits of information can be, and it is unlikely that a voice actor close to the project will explicitly state something like that simply as a joke. Also, it is highly improbable that Bethesda will discontinue making games in their acclaimed Fallout series, making Fallout 5 a real possibility.

It is generally assumed that Fallout 5 is in development, and as is to be expected, there are already a number of speculations about what we may see in the upcoming RPG, which, despite lacking detail, look promising. Read on to find out more about them.

Fallout 5 Gameplay Features and Rumors

Fallout 4 was widely praised for its huge content, wich provided players the freedom to choose among a number of actions pertaining to a single mission. That trend will certainly be continued with the upcoming game, but with several improvements in tow. One of the first things on everyone’s list of speculations is the upcoming game’s setting. The previous game in the post-apocalyptic action series used certain parts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as its setting, with a core focus on Boston. It is speculated that Fallout 5 will include more locations and may be set anywhere along the East Coast, and New York City stands at the top of many a fan’s wishlists. Moreover, as this post points out, the cultural hub of the USA also has the potential to seamlessly blend into the story.

A lot of the improvements that Bethesda must bring to the new game will be on the technical front. For instance, Fallout 4 was widely criticized for its lack of visual detail, despite the makers’ claims that the Creation engine would provide for some of the most fluid animation and greatest graphics ever seen in video games. In reality, critics and players pointed out that the visuals were mostly flat or even muddled, and the animation was glitchy. Moreover, the companion system, one of the main features of the game, was reported by many as being unpredictable and difficult to manage.

To address these issues, Fallout 5 may come with a major technical overhaul, and that can be aided by building the upcoming game on a new engine. Instead of the Creation Engine which was also used for Bethesda’s other famous RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bethesda could come up with a new engine built specifically to power games of this scale.

This post says that Fallout 5 may focus more on the storyline, which was a great USP for the last Fallout title, and the open world setting certainly allows for a more expansive plot and engaging quests on the side. In addition, Fallout 5 may also come with better crafting options and meaner vehicles. It is also rumored that the companion feature will be dropped entirely.

Fallout 5 Trailer

As of now, Fallout 5 is still unofficial, so we do not have a legitimate trailer for our readers. Watch this space for future updates.

Fallout 5 System Requirements

Fallout 4 came with some remarkable technical improvements, which meant that the PC requirements received a hike. Fallout 5‘s status is still rumored so we don’t really know what to expect. For all we know, the new game might demand a more powerful processor for a smooth run, especially if it is to come with the kind of overhaul that is generally expected of it. Something like an engine overhaul will also result in a significant shake-up. The specs listed below are not official, as it would be ludicrous to announce the system requirements before the game itself is announced. But we’ll update when we get the word.

Fallout 5 ??

Announcements about Fallout 5 are currently pending, but taking the aforementioned slip-up by Ryan Alosio into account, Fallout 5 is considered to be already in development. Additionally, Todd Howard, Fallout 4‘s designer, recently said that Bethesda was presently busy with three major projects. Though Howards later went back on his words, it is a great possibility that one of these titles is indeed the much-awaited follow-up to Fallout 4.

Assuming that Fallout 5 has been in production since 2016, the title may be launched anywhere between 2019 and 2020. However, Bethesda had only announced Fallout 4 in 2015 some months before its release, so we may not hear anything about Fallout 5 until we arrive at the year of its launch.

In conclusion, much of what is known about Fallout 5 is purely speculative in nature. But knowing what Bethesda and what they are capable of achieving, we can count on the next game, whenever it comes out, to be a blast.
